7 of our gymnasts travelled over to Sweden on Wed 8th May to compete in a friendly international trampoline and DMT competition

They spent most of Wednesday travelling over. Thursday saw the start of all the action, the gymnasts had a 2 hour morning and evening training sessions familiarising themselves with the venue and equipment.

Qualifying started on Friday morning with Ella on DMT, she competed 2 very strong passes and finished 6th securing a place in the finals (top 8 in each category qualify to the finals). Ella then competed on trampoline producing 2 good routines placing her 9th and narrowly missing qualification for trampoline.

Francesca and Sophia then took to the trampoline in a very competitive category of 65 competitors! Francesca came 37th and Sophia came 29th, both completed 2 new good routines with upgraded skills.

Despite a fall on a pass, Liam put in a strong performance on DMT in the Senior Mens category qualifying him to the finals in 7th.

The final performance of Friday was Kaylee on DMT placing 9th placing her JUST outside of the qualification window.

Qualifying continued on Saturday morning with Sophia on DMT placing 30th due to an unfortunate landing on a new pass but otherwise produced a good performance!

Luke and then Liam took to the trampoline in the Senior Mens category competing some incredibly difficult routines which unfortunately ended in a couple of mistakes.

Renee and Kaylee then took on the trampoline in the Senior Womens category. Renee competed 2 really strong routines debuting a couple of new skills but an unfortunate end landing on one of the routines placed Renne in 12th.  After a couple of unfortunate landings, Kaylee placed 32nd.

The finals began with Liam producing 2 amazing passes on DMT placing him 4th! Liam had just missed out on placing joint 2nd by 0.4 as 2nd and 3rd had a joint score.

The competition day ended with Ella on DMT producing some strong passes but due to a touch on the mat, Ella placed 7th overall.

Unlike most competitions, Frivolten held a lovely banquet for the kids and coaches to enjoy on Saturday night which was a lovely way to close out the competition.

With a spare day to spend on Sunday the competitors and coaches took to the local theme park for some downtime!

The competition was a great success the gymnasts and coaches had such a good time. For some of our gymnasts, it was a great introduction to international competitions. We want to say a MASSIVE thank you to Becky, Jason, Alex and all our other coaches at the club for getting them ready and taking them on this amazing opportunity!
